Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint someone you trust to handle your financial affairs and/or health and welfare matters should you become unable to handle them yourself during your lifetime, whether it be for a short or indefinite period of time.

Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Financial affairs

You can appoint an attorney who will manage your finances and property on your behalf as if you were dealing with them yourself (for example paying bills, collecting benefits or money from your bank or even selling your house etc.).

Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) Health and Personal Welfare

You can appoint an attorney who will be able to make decisions about your welfare only when you lack the metal capacity to make those decisions yourself (for example, if you become unconscious due to a serious injury or have had a stroke or because of an onset of dementia).

An LPA will enable you to set out your needs and appoint someone you trust so that they act in accordance with your instructions otherwise only the Court of Protection will be able to give permission and this can not only be costly but very time consuming for your family.

We promise to listen carefully to your needs and guide you every step of the way as you plan for your future. We will take away the stress and the worry out of the lasting power of attorney process that may seem daunting.
