  Wills

At RG Solicitors, we know that making a Will is not usually anyone’s priority. We also know, from experience, why it should be.

We all mean to make a Will, but the reality is that it is often something that is overlooked in our busy lives; and so many of us don’t get round to actually getting our Will done, or updated.

Effective estate planning can reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax which may otherwise have be paid

  Why a Will...?
If you have not made your wishes clear in your Will, the law of intestacy means that your assets will pass according to a defined set of rules

If you are not married but have a partner, your partner will not inherit your assets unless that is in your Will

If you are married, your spouse may only inherit a part of your assets, unless you have a Will

Without a Will, you will have no control about who is appointed as Guardian of your children

If you do have a Will, here are some common changes that may mean your Will needs updating:

    • purchasing a new house
    • a new baby
    • divorce
    • marriage
    • a death of a family member
    • winning the lottery!
